The Ending Theme

The Ending Theme is the collective name I’ve given to a series of short stories that I’ve penned over the years for various websites, magazines, and newspapers. The journey began in 2014, and to my own surprise, I’ve crafted over 500 stories since then—a number that only dawned on me after a casual tally. This collection is a living, breathing entity, continually growing with each new piece I write.

You can explore some of these stories in my writing library.

Each one is a window into different worlds and experiences. They can be grouped into different series.

The Ending Theme Series

The Ending Theme series springs from my love for the ending themes of TV shows, movies, animations, and games. They carry a bittersweet feeling. I’ve always hoped my stories would evoke similar emotions—lingering, poignant, and deeply felt.

I initially wrote this series for a newspaper. Every week, I would craft two stories. While these stories share a kinship with those in an earlier series titled A Friend of Mine, they’re a bit more polished, thanks to the extra time I had to weave them together.

The Episodes series

Actually I’ve just come up with the name The Episodes when I write this text. These stories were part of a monthly magazine column that never really had a title. These stories have a bit more depth and detail compared to those in The Ending Theme.

It’s actually the longest-running column I’ve had. I started writing for it back in 2019, and I’m still going. So much has happened in these four years, and you can see it in the stories. They’re reflections of how I’ve grown and changed over time.

Other Short Stories

Besides my regular columns, there have been times when I’ve written for literary magazines and other platforms. The stories I’ve written for these are usually on the longer side for short stories. Each one is like a little journey, exploring different facets of life in its own unique way.

Endnote

I also dabbled in writing stories for a newspaper way back in the late 2000s, during my younger days. Regrettably, I didn’t keep a record of those pieces. I will try to collect those lost stories before I get amnesia and forget their existence.

Reflecting on these stories is like watching the chapters of my own life unfold. Since around 2013, when I began to take fiction writing more seriously, I’ve seen myself grow – not just as a writer, but as a person. It’s no overstatement to say that crafting these narratives has shaped me into who I am today.

I look forward to what the next decade of storytelling will bring to me.
